I followed the admin guide for setting up the Commons OVA to work with an existing Perforce instance.  Everything is working fine except for compare.  I can upload files, edit them, create spaces, etc., but when I try to compare two revisions of a file, I get a loading page that just spins at 0% and nothing else happens.

I've check to make sure the p4compare service is running and I tried restarting it, but it didn't help anything.  I've tried the compare in IE, FF, and Chrome, so it's not a browser-specific problem.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I assume you have the latest and greatest version of the OVA? I can try to repro.

I'm not able to reproduce the issue, so I need some more info.

1) Are there any file types where compare works? What filetypes have you experimented with? (.docx, .txt, .pptx)
2) Can you access the P4Combine test page at http://<your IP address>:9003?
3) What VM tool are you using? (VMWare or VirtualBox?)
4) How is the network configured for the OVA? (host-only? bridged?)

Hi Matt, thanks for the help.  To answer your questions:

1) Compare does work with docx files but not PDF or txt
2) I am able to access the P4Combine test page
3) We are using VMWare
4) Bridged

Is the test page for the PDFCompare tool working? Try connecting to http://<your IP>:9005.

Yes, the test page is working and I can run a PDF compare from that page.
