I installed P4Eclipse plugin in Eclipse. However, I noticed that Eclipse allows me to edit a file, but it doesn't automatically check it out from Perforce repository. So, after I edited the file, if I go to P4V, the recently modified file won't show up in default change set. Any suggestion on what to look into here?

Thanks.

There is a preference that should enable auto-checkouts. I'm not sure why it wouldn't be enabled by default. I'm on my iPad now, but I'll look it up for you in the morning.

Is this the check box "Enable support for Workbench save operations (Useful for files set as always writable)", which is located at "Preference - Team - Perforce"? Checking this box does seem solve the problem. This option perhaps should be enabled by default?

Certainly seems like it. In fact I'm pretty sure it used to be. I'll try to repro and will file a bug if I can.
