My company's perforce connection can be established using p4 and p4v by this value of P4PORT:-

rsh:crackpipe ssh -2 -a -c blowfish -l p4ssh -q -x perforce.<companyname>.com /bin/true

But, p4eclipse doesnt allow this connection. p4eclipse plugin specifically wants <host>:<post>

What is the solution?

We so need to add rsh support to P4Eclipse; I'll add you to the request. There's currently no way to get P4Eclipse to handle an rsh port. P4Java, the underlying API, doesn't support rsh ports. The workaround that I just tried that worked for me was to setup a Perforce proxy on my machine and then just connect to that. It's more than a little kludgy, but from my testing it works like a charm.

P4Matt,
I have the same problem.
Could you give a pointer to how to setup a p4p proxy to an port like:
  rsh:ssh -q -a -x -l p4ssh perforce.hopeful.com

And the address that is used on the P4eclipse plug to connect to the proxy?

Hi P4 Staff,

Facing same issue with connecting p4eclipse using RSH. Kindly let us know when the underlying p4Java support for RSH is available. If not, let us know how to connect through p4p (i.e. p4 proxy).

Also p4 proxy is not available on MAC ? Kindly confirm.

Regards,
Gurum
