Today, our automated Perforce monitoring cronjob script detected one user had abnormally large number of IDLE p4d server connections which is very unusual.   I did a p4 monitor show -ale and found hundreds of entries like this one:

...
5842 p4eclipse/2013.1/662354 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx  arumus1    arumus1_USENARUMUS1L1C_9465 02:09:38 IDLE none
...

I called the user to find out what was going on.  All he said he did was check the merge status of a particular folder.    After he exited Eclipse, the IDLE connections all closed normally.    He's running P4 Eclipse 2013.1/6662354.

Q: Is this a bug in this version of the p4eclipse plug-in?  Or maybe a Eclipse IDE configuration problem?

Thanks for advice, or suggestions.
-Greg

A bit more info about the version:

    Eclipse Kepler release 1
         Version: 4.3.1.v20130911-1000
         Build id: M20130911-1000

    P4Eclipse43 plugin.

User states:   "I was checking on the revision list for the merge on our autosupportParser branch.".  That's about all I have so far.

I don't see any bug reports around that, so if it's a bug you're the lucky one to find it first. Is it reproducible at all or was it just a one time occurrence?

gsb started a support case with us. We'll look into that.

I work for Perforce.
