I'm attempting to use p4p (perforce proxy) against a server with SSL support.

This works fine:
$ p4 -u me -p ssl:perforce.example.com:1666 clients
# Note: "me" and "example.com" are replacements for real values

Now I'll start a proxy:
$ export P4PCACHE=/Volumes/atta/Caches/p4p.example
$ p4p -p 31666 -t ssl:perforce.example.com:1666
Perforce Proxy starting...

If I try logging in:

$ p4 -u me -p localhost:31666 clients
Perforce client error:
TCP connect to ssl:perforce.example.com:1666 failed.
perforce.example.com:1666: service unkown

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? This proxy setup worked before switching to SSL on the server.

I had a version of p4p that was too old for ssl support
