Hey everyone,

I have been looking into using Perforce for a small project I am working on but my team is scatterd accross the country. Is there a way to use perforce over the web? Or does it only work locally?

Sorry if this the incorrect forum for this I wasn't sure where to post this.

Thank you.
Drake.

Connecting to a perforce is done by a connection string with server:port such as

source.mycompany.com:1900
127.0.0.1:1900

So anybody using Unity or any other Perforce client (such as P4V) can access and use the repository remotely from anywhere.

Great, thank you colinday!

Any recommendations on what kind of server to get?

I am currently looking at getting one of these.

The machine you linked to looks fine.

Perforce is usually I/O bound, so make sure the disk is fast, and directly connected, if possible.

You'll also need "enough" ram, but you don't need to go crazy unless you've got a huge repository.
