Hi there, I'm a newbe in perforce and I need help setting up. I have already settled a dedicated perforce server where I uploaded my webpage's files, also settled down two windows clients to work with that server. Everything is up and running. Now I need to connect my ubuntu webserver to the perforce dedicated server so I can work from the windows' machines on the files and with perforce update those files on the webserver. I've checked for hours with no results on how to do this... please help!! i know you have to use p4 on the server, but i need more info on how to do that.

Sorry that you are having trouble with your Perforce configuration. For clarification, is the Perforce server on Windows and a client workspace on ubuntu with your webserver files?

You need to use the Perforce server 'host:port' and the Perforce user name to connect the client and server. To add files to the server, you need to also use and setup and client workspace. The references below are video and doc tutorials on how to do this successfully.

I hope this is helpful. Let us know if you have any more questions.

- Setting up Workspaces in P4V

- Configuring P4
