Hi,

This may sound like a total noob question but can someone tell me what the little blue lock icon means in perforce (see attachment)?
I'm pretty sure that I've never seen this before...i normally see a little black lock icon to know that a file is exclusively checked out.
Sometimes accompanied by a blue check mark to know that someone else has it checked out.
(Is this something from an Edge server?)

Thanks,

-Jonathan Wilson

The blue lock icon means that someone else has it locked -- which shouldn't normally be able to coexist with the black lock icon meaning that you yourself have it locked.  Is this a real "p4 lock" type lock or is this a "+l" (exclusive open) file?  It's possible to get around the "+l" type by explicitly opening it with a different filetype so that your version of it doesn't have the exclusive flag.

Yes it was a real "p4 lock".
Oh ok the file was in exclusive checkout first (it has the +l typemap) and then the user did a Ctrl+l on the file to really lock the file.
(Causing a double lock? :-))

Thanks,

-JW
