Hi Everyone,

I have installed the P4VS plugin (Version: 2016.1.145.2036) into my Visual Studio 2015. I observe that whenever I open a file in Visual Studio it keeps asking me to checkout the file. I do not want to check out file. I just want to read it. This is especially irritating when I am debugging and I want to step-in. P4VS invariably asks to checkout the file.

There are only two options which seem relevant:

1. Don't show this dialog again (always use active changelist)
2. Prompt for changelist when checking out or adding files

Both of which I don't want to do.

This never happened with Visual Studio 2014 and P4VS ( I do not remember the version). In the previous version P4VS used to prompt to checkout the file if and only if I really happened to edit the file or make changes to it. And that was great.

Can anybody help me here?
How do I make P4VS prompt me to checkout a file only when I start to make changes to it and not when I try to open it?
