Hi,

I'm currently using P4V Rev. P4V/NTX64/2017.2/1518788 on server version P4D/LINUX26X86_64/2014.2/1204366 (2015/07/16)
Is it normal that 'p4 opened -x' only shows exclusive files opened for edit and/or delete but does NOT show exclusive files opened for add?
However running 'p4 opened -a' correctly shows files opened for add including exclusive ones.

Could it be a consequence of our server version being pretty old? (In which case I sincerely apologize in advance)

Thanks,

-Jonathan Wilson

I just tried this on a Perforce 2016.2 server and I see the same behavior.  I do not see exclusive lock files open for add.  So I would say this is normal behavior.

Hi p4rfong,

Doesn't this feel more like a bug rather than normal behavior? I would think that tracking 'opened' exclusive files using 'p4 opened -x' would/should consider the add type.
Perhaps files that are opened for 'add' are treated differently because the server has no metadata for them?

Thanks,

Yes, it would require more code to track files marked for exclusive lockfiles opened with "p4 add".  Your request is not unreasonable, but that is not how we designed "p4 opened -x" for the moment.  More code would also to needed to detect exclusive lock "p4 delete" files.
