Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows how granular you can go with permissions when using Helix4Git. It's my understanding that you can at most restrict reads at the repo level, but writes to the file level, is this correct? Is there any way to restrict reads to the file level as well? If so, this would be the best thing since sliced bread.

Hi,

Currently Helix For Git permissions only apply to repos or graph depots.

It is not possible to mark some files within a repo as writable, and some as read-only to a user or group.

More information about the permissions and what they do is available here:
  https://www.perforce...permission.html

Hope this helps,
Jen.

Does 'Currently' mean that in the future Helix4Git will allow permissioning a git repository down to the file file level like p4 protect does today? If so, this is a killer feature and would be absolutely huge for perforce! I was thinking it would be possible with a little p4 <--> git repo conversion under the covers using the old p4 git-fusion offering.

And thanks, this does help.
