Hi,

I have an ubuntu 16.04 LTS server running p4d. I installed the packages provided by the perforce repository. Now I see there are updates available:

Updatable package information Package name helix-p4d Update system APT Package description amd64 Server component of the Helix Versioning Engine Current state New version 2017.1-1534792~xenial Installed version 2017.1-1511774~xenial Available version 2017.1-1534792~xenial Installation source Xenial

Can I just install this package?
Do I need to do all the upgrade steps normally performed? backup, install, upgrade db, ...
Will the server automatically be restarted?

Tom

Hi Tom,

I suggest you take a checkpoint and backup the archive (depot) files and journal before upgrading the
package.

The server should re-start after the upgrade, but you may wish to plan in some down time, just in case.

Cheers,
Jen.
