I use Visual Studio 2017 and plugins like Resharper and P4VS.

Recently I discovered performance issues in VS2017 version 15.5.2.
Typing in VS editor has become very slow whenever I connect to perforce using your P4VS plugin.
If I disable perforce connection, it works perfectly fine.

Moreover, I also raised a request to resharper team thinking it was Resharper's problem but it turned out to be the problem of P4VS plugin.

After profiling I see the problem in how Perforce integration to Visual Studio slowly answers whether the file being edited is editable.
Attached is the version I am using.

Does anybody knows the solution?

Have you tried any of the JetBrains performance suggestions?

https://www.jetbrain...ance_Guide.html

They also suggest disabling source control integration as one of the most common solutions to this issue:

https://www.jetbrain...#try_this_first
https://resharper-su...Sharper-is-slow

which indicates that they are aware that ReSharper may not work well with *any* version control integration. It is likely a case of ReSharper triggering a large number of "is file editable?" events.

What version of ReSharper are you using? This comment suggests a performance decline at some point: "Hello, after updating from 2015.1.1 to 2015.1.2 resharper became very slow. Downgrading to 2015.1.1 helped get rid of the lags"

Did previous versions of Visual Studio, P4VS, and ReSharper work better for you?

If you could provide a more detailed repro scenario here or in a mail to support@perforce.com (and mention me), we can investigate further.
