Hi all,

I am a newbie, so please bear with me.

Trying to install and configure Perforce server on UBUNTU. What I need to configure the following;

- configure the server to write its journal to /perforce/p4journal
- make sure the logs for the server are configured to reside under /perforce/logs
- configure the server's depots to be in subdirectories of /perforce/depots

However during the installation and even after running the post installation configuration script (configure-helix-p4d.sh) I didn't get promoted to change the location of P4JOURNAL, Logs and Depots! Like I got prompted for P4ROOT location!

My Question is: where I can change the default location of  the above mention files (P4JOURNAL, Logs and Depots)?

Also; I have noticed the P4PORT port number and P4ROOT path were added and P4Journal but with out path! So my next question if I edit this file manually will make any difference and would i need to reboot/restart P4d services?

Looking forward to your replay. Thanks in advance.

Create your own startup script.  Then run

p4d -r <P4ROOT> -p <P4PORT> -J <P4JOURNAL> -L <P4LOG> -d

Otherwise, just change the configuration file directly in /etc/perforce.
