Hi, I am a developer at Adobe. I am looking for a way in which I can pass user input to my custom tool (at runtime) which is running in the terminal window ?

Basically, my tool asks for user password (for authenticating with another application when it logs for the first time and it doesn't find those credentials locally on the system).

When I run my scripts through cmd (in Windows) and Terminal (in Mac), I am able to supply user input to my scripts as reqd. at runtime.
But, when I hooked my scripts with a P4 Custom tool, I am not able to achieve the functionality of providing user input at runtime to my scripts through the terminal window.

Any ideas how I can achieve this ?

Are you using "Prompt user for arguments"? If so, write debug lines to see the argument that you are inputting.
If all else fails, run an md5sum on the password and place the password on your disk.  Then take the input from your custom script and run an md5sum on it.  Approve the password if both match.
