I'll noticed mailman sync is slow to fetch replies from the mailing list

Thanks for the feedback. I think that's because mailman can take some time to deliver to all subscribers. The forum is effectively just another subscriber and has to take it's turn.

I was surprised at how difficult it was to find a link to the forums from the Perforce homepage.... there didn't seem to be any links in the obvious places... I resorted to a search of the site to locate the forums.

If you want more people to learn about and us it, add a link under "documentation" and/or "technical support".

Would you consider changing the top-level menu bar?

I'd recommend putting changing 'Perforce Home' to 'Perforce.com' and moving it to the far right.

I know I've hit it a few times on accident when meaning to go to the forums 'home'

I can't find the P4Sandbox section(s).  Is that yet to be posted?

I'm currently using the mailing list as notification of posts to the forum, but I typically prefer to read and reply to topics on the forum due to the better formatting and quoting capabilities of the forum.

If the recent uptick in spam to the p4 mailing list continues, I will abandon the email list completely and utilize just the forums.

Most everything seems to work well, and I'm mostly happy with these forums.

The spam level is getting a bit high, especially for folks like me who subscribe to the mailing list.

Having managed phpbb boards in the past, I know that it's fairly trivial to make the board inscrutable to standard spam-bots without customization on their part. I added a field at the bottom of the user registration form that said "please enter your username again in this field". I checked to see if they were the same, and flagged it as a form error if they weren't the same. Very little logic required on my part, but spam-bots aren't able to handle it. There are also many publicly available antibot and antispam mods for phpbb, which also work, but spammers will crack common measures, whereas custom measures aren't worth their time.

I suspect that there are some similarly simple ways to protect these boards as well.

In addition, there's really no reason to allow anonymous posting here.

Thanks.

I find the "View New Content" button very valuable.
