Hello, I just started using Perforce p4v was in the middle of copying all files to my server. Although after all my 36 gigabytes of data were copied, it was gone from my disk. Completely. Is there a way to recover this? Thank you.

I don't know what to do anymore, this is ruining my life.
This event is probably the worst thing that happened this year, losing the important data worth 2 years of research.
Could anyone please help me with this?

If "copied" means the files all got submitted successfully, they're safe and sound on the server and you can sync them back any time, no matter what happens in your local workspace.

What do you see in P4V?  Are the files in the depot?  Is there a submitted changelist containing all the files?  Are the files "gone" from your disk because they're opened for delete in a pending changelist?

Or, if you're okay with using a command line, these commands will very quickly provide textual answers to the question of where your files are:

# this will list the changes you've submitted (are your files in there?)
p4 changes --me -s submitted

# this will list ALL the files on the server (do you see your files among them? you can also give a narrower path)
p4 files //...

# this shows whether you have any files opened and if so for what action
p4 opened

# this shows what files the server thinks you have in your workspace
p4 have
