Is there a way to test whether the content of a shelf matches my sandbox?  Say I create a shelf with file foo, then later revert foo.  The file foo will no longer appear in the changelist, but I believe it still exists in the shelf. Or does it?

You can see the set of files in a shelf with "p4 files @=CHANGE".

If you want to diff the actual content, I think you can do "p4 diff -f FILE@=CHANGE"?  Or "p4 diff2 FILE#have FILE@=CHANGE" (one will diff against what you physically have in your workspace, one will diff against the depot revision synced to your workspace -- it'll be the same as long as the file in your workspace is unmodified).
