Shouldn't the p4 files command have an option to just list the files, without all the ancillary data.

What's a good way to add deleted files to a changelist?

The -F (format) global option is good for this.  You can do:

p4 -F %depotFile% files ...

to see just the depot path, for example.  The formatting variables are different for each command; to see the available options run:

p4 -e files ...

which will dump the raw message so you can see what its components are (the string you pass to -F replaces the default fmt string you see in that output).

If these are files that have already been deleted and you want to un-delete them, you could use "p4 sync" + "p4 add", or "p4 undo".

If these are files that are not yet deleted but you want to delete them, use "p4 delete".
