My Window got corrupted so I had to install new windows thus the installation of perforce got wiped out with that, but the version files in depot(from here on called as Safe depot) were on another drive and are safe . So i installed perforce and made a new depot and set it's location same as the safe depot and also named it same as the safe depot. Literally I made the new depot on the same location as the old one and  with the same but the version file(.v , .gz, etc files) are not being read , the depot is shown empty in p4v . I will really appreciate if someone can help me recover these files , thanks.

p4d needs both versioned files and database files.
https://www.perforce...ter.backup.html

You have to restore database from a checkpoint if you have any.
Or maybe you have a copy of db.* files next to versioned files.
